In a bid to entrench the values of accountability, integrity and inculcate positive attitudinal change in Nigerians, the Federal Government launched the "Change Begins With Me" campaign on Thursday, 8th August,2016 in Abuja

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and the Director-General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Garba Abari, made this known in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

They said that the campaign was aimed at educating and enlightening Nigerians to appreciate these values which, they noted, are critical to achieving comprehensive national development.

According to them, the campaign is expected to trigger positive change that will boost Nigeria's image, enable the country gain acceptability and command respect in the comity of nations.

The President on Thursday, 8th September,2016 launched "Change Begins With Me" campaign and with immediate effect ordered the reduction of aircraft in the presidential fleet.

President Muhammadu Buhari has given the order for the reduction of the number of aircraft in his presidential fleet.

Spokesperson to the president on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu,  said: “There is a government committee already in place, working to reduce the number of aircraft in the presidential fleet.”

“Some aircraft will be boarded, some others returned to the Air Force for operations. The Change is here.”

Critics of Buhari say the government has not done enough to end Nigeria’s worst economic crisis for decades.

Many state governors are not paying salaries and tens of thousands of workers have been laid off, while companies across sectors say they cannot get enough hard currency to import spare parts or raw materials.
